VETERINARY TO HUMAN REGENERATIVE THERAPIES
Endre is currently the Director of Innovation in the Medical School of the University of Sheffield and leads his research group as a Professor of Cell Signalling. His research focuses on understanding how innate immunity plays a key role in the development of chronic diseases, including arthritis. Endre is founder and CEO of StemcellX, a company that was established to develop regenerative stem cell treatments for Osteoarthritis in animals. Their first product for canine patients is in advanced clinical trials and the company is expanding its portfolio of treatments to benefit other species, including horses, camels and exotic animals. Using the know-how from this work, he is co-leading the preclinical development of a human stem cell-based osteoarthritis therapy at the University of Sheffield.
